Five years ago this week, on May 31, 2021, AURUS officially opened its production facility in the Republic of Tatarstan. The event marked a turning point for Russia's automotive industry. For the first time, the country began serial production of a domestically built luxury car.
Since then, AURUS has rolled out two luxury models — the AURUS Senat and the AURUS Komendant — at volume scale. It has also built a bespoke personalization program and launched a high-end customer service operation. But the company's ambitions go further.
Over the past five years, AURUS has built a local network of leading Russian suppliers and manufacturers. All of them meet the brand's demanding quality standards.
The company constantly refines its production processes and maintains tight quality control. That's not just a talking point. It happens every day. New solutions go into current production — through updated technical work instructions — as well as into aftersales service programs.
When customers want something unique, AURUS listens. The company prioritizes individual requests, whether from potential buyers or existing owners. The philosophy is simple: maximize client satisfaction. Offer an exceptional level of customization. Put the client's wishes first.
Today, the AURUS factory employs 250 people. The plant is running steadily and is now preparing to launch an updated version of the AURUS Senat.
Very few luxury car brands have been built from scratch. Almost all of those stories took decades, often spanning multiple eras. AURUS, by contrast, went from initial development to volume production in a remarkably short time. By global industry standards, that pace is unusual.
What comes next is just as ambitious. The company says it remains committed to leadership. The ultimate goal: build Russia's domestic engineering capabilities and reduce the country's dependence on imported automotive technology.
